Meeting called to order at 3:33 PM

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Maryann motioned to approve the June minutes. Lexi seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

 

PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Principal James Snyder talked about setting the tone for the school year, checking in and checking out, and accountability. The school is also working on the CFA curriculum as it has for a few years now. It was noted how fundraising comes right back to us.

BOARD MEMBERS

UPPER GRADE TEACHER REP: Dana Jones 

LOWER GRADE TEACHER REP: Ruby Todd

Maryann provided an introduction to the new board. She discussed how membership is now automatic for all staff, parents, and guardians. New bylaws eliminated class reps, so instead of class reps, there is one upper teacher grade rep (Dana Jones) and one lower grade teacher rep (Ruby Todd). Maryann also discussed the possibility of having future PTO meetings in new places. It was decided that for the sake of convenience and easy attendance by staff, meetings will continue to be on site.

 

Treasurer: Lexi reviewed the budget and the purchase of two smart boards. She explained how the budget works and what it pays for: field trips, teacher subs (7K), Kinder aid (15K); the teacher subs cover collaboration days for every trimester.

 

●     Popcorn sales will be ongoing (there will be no more popsicles due to new district nutrition guidelines. Allowing parents the option of paying for popcorn for the entire school year was discussed.

 

Assemblies:

No updates at this time.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS & OPEN FORUM

Fundraising/Events 

Ruby explained how Give Back Nights work and how the calendar is already set for this year. Teachers will be scooping ice cream at Hubbalicous for the first Give Back Night.

Events Discussed: Future Give Back Nights, Goodies with Grandparents, Trunk or Treat, Teacher Appreciation, Apex

Dana emphasized how Trunk or Treat will need to be bigger since there will be no auction this year.

Trunk or Treat is scheduled for Friday, October 24th

 Shawna briefly discussed the volunteer process.

●     More volunteers are needed at future events: Apex, Trunk or Treat, etc.

●     Someone is needed as Hospitality Chair and to help with Teacher Appreciation; Lexi explained the process for sharing teachers’ favorite things and suggested doing Teacher Spotlights on social media

Maryanne shared that Apex lanyards will be ready in time for Goodies with Grandparents.

●     Apex kicks off September 5th
